Frequently Asked Questions

Can my dog play with other dogs?

Unique to Eagle Ridge is our Play Pals Program. Participating in a hand selected and supervised playgroup allows dogs of similar personality and exercise levels to share play and activity time togethe. Dogs are only able to participate in this program with their owner’s permission.

It’s important to note that many of the dogs we see are not participating in our Play Pals Program. This is perfectly acceptable and is by no means a negative reflection of the dog or its owner.

Our experienced staff can help you determine if this program could benefit your dog.

How much time does my dog get to play and be out of his kennel?

Due to our high staff to pet ratio we are able to tailor a pet’s daily exercise and activities to best suite its individual needs. The length of time the dogs spend out side of their kennel or in a playgroup is dependent on what the individual dog is comfortable with. Variables such as the energy level of the dog, suitable playmates and even weather conditions will influence the day’s activities.

In addition to our individual outdoor exercise runs, Eagle Ridge also provides a safe, secure and spacious outside yard for free play and a large 2000 sq ft indoor playroom to permit plenty of opportunity for exercise.

Are tours available?

Yes, tour hours during our non peak times are Monday through Friday from noon - 5pm. Please call for an appointment so that we can have a staff member available to help answer any questions you may have.

What are the vaccine requirements?

For the health and safety of all our guests, all pets must be current on their vaccinations prior to arrival for any boarding, daycare, grooming or training activity.

All dogs over 6 months are required to be vaccinated with the minimum of: DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo and Parainfluneza), Bordetella, and Rabies

All cats over the age of 6 months are required to be vaccinated for Distemper and Rabies. The Feline Leukemia vaccination while strongly recommended for cats is not required.

Proof of participation in an appropriate vaccination sequence will be required for all puppies and kittens under the age of 6 months.

We will make exceptions to these requirements with written documentation from your veterinarian regarding the health condition and medical reason why vaccinations are contraindicated for your pet.

What does boarding cost?

Our owners and staff have always felt that our boarding services should provide more than just the warehousing of pets. Our daily rates include not just quality food and sleeping quarters but also the costs associated with interacting with each pet throughout the day, finding compatible canine playmates when elected, assigning appropriate accommodations, and staff supervision in order to provide the safe, stimulating and positive boarding experience our clients have come to expect. Our boarding fees are based on a per calendar day rate which means that, each pets stay begins with the day of arrival and ends with the day of departure regardless of arrival or departure times.

We are staffed every day of the year and often extend our staffing hours throughout the day and as late as necessary to properly care for each pet visiting with us. Regardless of when a pet is arriving or departing, we offer the same standard of care for every pet, every day. It is due to these factors that our rates are calculated on a per calendar day charge. Consequently an over night stay is allocated as 2 calendar days.

Can my pets stay together?

When appropriate, pets from the same family may stay together in the same accommodations. Our kennels, runs, cat suites and condos are amply sized for multiple pets.

We do offer multiple-pet discounts for owners with pets that prefer to stay together during their stay. We also provide long term boarding rates should the need arise.

Please call for pricing for the accommodations that best suit your boarding needs.

What should I bring?

If your pet has special dietary needs or prefers a particular diet, it’s often best not to change their food during their stay so we would encourage owners to bring the pet's special food with them. A favorite toy or treat is always welcome.

Our floors have radiant heating and we provide ample bedding and special matting to ensure that all pets are comfortable and warm. We provide each guest with fresh stainless steel bowls at each feeding and unlimited access to our toy chests.

My pet is used to being with our family; won’t he miss us and be lonely?

Our compassionate and caring staff is devoted to your pet’s well being while in our care. We are staffed everyday of the year and can a provide a safe, stimulating and positive boarding experience in your absence. With our staff always providing kindness and attention as if each pet were own, your pet will quickly feel at home.

How old should my pet be in order to board?

We routinely board pets as young as 8 weeks. Generally, the younger a pet is when they are introduced to being away from home, the quicker they adjust to their new environment and our staff.

Can I call to see how my pet is?

Absolutely! We are happy to hear from owners and are able to report on how their pet is enjoying their stay.

What if my pet gets sick and needs to see a vet while I am away?

When veterinary care is felt to be needed, every effort will be made to seek health care from your veterinarian as they are most familiar with your pet. To ensure the safety and welfare of all our guests we do have veterinarians available to respond to emergency health needs should your veterinarian not be available.

As the owner, you will be notified as requested at the number you provide for emergency notification. As always, our efforts will be directed to ensuring the health of our guests first and notification second should time be of the essence.
